Day 8 crew change 11/06/16

Crew change is always a difficult time and this time saying goodbye to my wife and son was particularly hard. I wished they could have stayed longer. We said our farewells and I  tried to maintain a stiff upper lip as I  waved them off. Inside I was missing them already.

Dan Burnett from Somerset and Tom Fanthorpe from Stoke on Trent joined today and soon joined in the Tikka spirit with Dan dressed the part as we refuelled.

Today was maintenance day, fuelled, topped up with water and engine checks done, all was going smoothly but when we checked the Nav lights, nothing. Dan got stuck in tracing broken and corroded wiring and terminals and by early evening Tikka was ready to go. To catch the tide up to Lowestoft it was to be another early start but not before a swift crew pint at the local bar.

I'm sailing around the UK with family and friends onboard our yacht, Tikka, to raise awareness and money for " Action for Children "
