Day 9 Felixstowe to Lowestoft 12/06/16

Yet again to catch the tide it was to be an early start! Maybe we are jinxed having a chicken/Cockerell onboard!
Call the hands was 0330 for an 0400 slip. With a clear sky and favourable southerly winds we crept out of Suffolk yacht harbour and headed down river to sea. Once at sea it was time to hoist the cruising chute. Dan and Tom soon got used to trimming the chute and with a little practise were holding a good course.
With 4 weeks onboard and acting as first mate, Dan made best use of this leg by familiarising himself with the charts, chartplotter and AIS.

With favourable winds and mostly favourable tide we made good time and arrived at Lowestoft by 1430. A quiet little harbour with survey vessels and a few fishing boats and lots and lots of Seagull s..t!
Next stop Grimsby.
