We were joined by Samantha Cassell from boatshed.com with friends and family today including 9 year old Adam who was very interested in Tikka. Our new neighbour in Hartlepool marina had their grand daughter, Chloe, aged 9 onboard that also found Tikka and our story fascinating.
After giving children, adults and even two dogs a guided tour of Tikka we pumped up the dinghy and suitably dressed headed towards Hartlepool Naval museum where there was an open day. Chloe and Adam were very eager to help Danny and I spread the word about Action for Children and Tikka’s Travels.
We returned to Tikka having made new friends, had photographs taken by the local press, handed out lots of Action for Children leaflets flyers and a bucket containing £40.13 from donations from people in Hartlepool. A very satisfying day.
Back onboard we were joined by new crew member for this week’s leg, Louise Wrightson, a Royal Navy Chief Petty Officer that I have served with and sailed with for a number of years.
