The forecast was not good today, Force 5 to 7 occasionally 8 inshore and strong wind warnings all around with a rough sea state. Time to shelter and get on to a few jobs.
A clean ship is a happy ship so we got down to cleaning Tikka and making her smell fresher. Clothes washing was done and we topped Tikka’s water supplies up and arranged to refuel the next day.
The marina was full of golf enthusiasts, using their boats as accommodation and spending the day watching the Open. The marina staff were very helpful though and managed to squeeze us in. When I booked in at the office, John listened to our story, took some flyers and without hesitation took £20 from his wallet for a donation and wished us well. Throughout this trip I have been stunned by the generosity and support from people around the country, friends, family and complete strangers (strangers I now call friends).
