Day 56 Difficult navigation choices to reach Milford Haven 29/07/16

To reach Milford Haven we had to negotiate numerous islands and strong tides. We could give all the islands a long berth or take the more scenic and adventurous route picking the correct timings to navigate through Ramsey Sound and Jack Sound. After getting our heads in the books and charts for what felt like an eternity we opted for the latter.

We had to break this leg in two, anchoring between Ramsey Sound and Jack Sound. As we approached Ramsey island the engine over heated! We checked the oil level, water filter and impeller. There was a bit of weed to clear from the filter but everything else seemed fine. I think we may have just had a few too many revs on and she needed a rest. An oil and filter change will be on the agenda at the next opportunity.

We sailed through Ramsey Sound and on to a picturesque spot south of Solva where we dropped anchor for the night.
