Throughout Wednesday and Thursday the mechanics from Wigmore &Wright boatyard worked to fix Tikka. They traced the fault to a fuel starvation problem due to dirty fuel. The fuel lift pump that supplies the fuel from the tank to the engine was completely blocked. This meant cleaning the pump and lines with compressed air, draining the fuel tank, cleaning and refuelling. I changed the fuel filter, engine oil filter and engine oil for good measure too whilst we were alongside.
With the sun shining and Tikka on the mend we took the opportunity of a family day out. Cardiff is a great city that has been well developed over the years since the demise of the docks. Restaurants and bars have replaced heavy industry and coal ships.
Harry, being an avid Dr Who fan found the Dr Who exhibition a greatj treat. I think the Tardis and Tikka have much in common. They are both small on the outside but have history, charm and a unique character of their own.
