Day 66 & 67 Watchet to Padstow 08/08/16 & 09/08/16

We waited for sufficient tidal height and slipped from Watchet at 0930.

With a strong West bound tide and Westerly wind it was to be a bumpy ride. The Bristol channel is notorious for confused seas and Tikka was thrown around for over 15 hours as we tacked our way out.

Through the night poor Meg suffered the curse of Mal de Mer (seasickness) but Kaz was in her element helming in difficult conditions.

Once we were past Hartland point we were able to sail a good course and with a clear sky were witness to an amazing meteor shower.

After all the excitement, tired and a little battered, Tikka, calmly carried us safely into Padstow at 0830 where we were met by the town mayor and press. What a welcome after an exciting 23 hour sail.
